Delta Spirit and Kiyoshi at the Fillmore

Delta Spirit and Kiyoshi at the Fillmore. Great venue. Kiyoshi played the poster room before the main event, there are a few shots of that room that I really love. Interesting history, color, and compositions abound in those posters. Delta Spirit played an amazing show. Their album has been on my Spotify on constant repeat for the last couple of weeks. This was a challenging show to shoot due to constantly changing conditions in low light, and only three songs to shoot. Anyone know why that is? Hit me up in the comments if you do.

All of the photos can be found here.

Have a great week.

Hangtown Halloween Ball 2012

Hangtown Halloween Ball. Blind Pilot, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe featuring members from Slightly Stoopid, and a few by Railroad Earth. All of the photos can be found here. Great times, fun show. I really enjoyed the music, and as a photographer, the lighting on stage was incredible. We got great color wash and great backlight. 90% shot with a 70-200, and the rest split between a 14-24 and 24-70. Thanks to Chloe for lugging my heavy lens while my back is out and I am extra gimpy. You’re the best. Thanks to Marcus for the tickets and VIP access. Thanks to Chris and Chloe for a place to crash in Placerville! I can’t wait for next year.

UTI Drags 2012

UTI day at the drags! Sacramento Raceway hosted a full day of free food and free drag racing. What more can you ask for? It’s free! The guys that work there were great, and did a great job making sure everyone got a chance to run multiple times. Mark Hall and Harold Clark were key in making everything run smoothly. Great job guys.

90% shot with the 70-200, and the rest evenly divided between the 24-70 and the 14-24. I was playing around with longer exposures on the last few shots to show more of the motion and raw speed and power of these cars. I kind of wish I had run my car, but I also had a lot of fun taking photos too.

The Mother Hips and Rose’s Pawn Shop @Harlows

The Mother Hips at Harlows. Rose’s Pawn Shop opened. Never seen either band before, but I have heard tales of the Mother Hips before and they did not disappoint. Rose’s Pawn Shop and the Hips both were very entertaining, and the place was packed for both shows.

4 wide angle shots with the 14-24, a couple with the 24-70, and 5 with the 70-200. Most of my favorite shots were with the longer lens, as it was really hard to get a a piece of the stage. The first four shots are of Rose’s and the rest are the Hips. More photos can be found on my Facebook here.
